Supporting Charity

Designer Rebecca David creates a unique collection of denim and brocade jackets with ‘love and intention’ to support a wide array of charities. When she lost her beloved Aunt Maxine to breast cancer, she focused her talent and efforts on creations with a powerful message. This businesswoman turned entrepreneur/designer vowed to help conquer the disease by supporting research. Aunt Maxine was a force in her life and is remembered as an active, vibrant woman with a fiercely independent streak. Ms. David’s PinkDenim jacket reflects her Aunt’s personality… "a little feminine, a little rugged and very original." It was Aunt Maxine who inspired Rebecca David to leave her 9-5 job, and Aunt Maxine’s constant enthusiasm for life and encouragement to follow dreams. "You only live once. Do what you love and the pieces will fall into a happier and higher order," advised the wise woman.

The PinkDenim addition to the popular Me & Max line is a tribute to Aunt Max. Ms. David’s latest creation honors her Aunt, and contributions will hopefully help to keep other families from the pain and loss associated with losing someone special to breast cancer.

“In honor my Aunt’s great spirit, my goal is to embrace what I do best and find that golden thread that will also enable me to contribute something substantial and positive to others at the same time.” explains Ms. David. “This is the inspiration behind my work, and especially the PinkDenim addition to the Me & Max line of jackets. We are making progress and speaking in a loud voice through fashion, on behalf of women and families everywhere.”

Rebecca David launched the new Me & Max PinkLine in late 2006. Since then, 10% of all proceeds have been donated to various breast cancer research organizations earmarked for fighting the disease and improving lives. According to statistics, one in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with the disease. Breast cancer touches so many families and it’s the research that holds the key to cures and hopefully prevention.

Me & Max PinkDenim Jackets are now available in shops from Las Vegas to Nashville, from the Valley just north of Beverly Hills and in fine specialty shops throughout the country and on this Web site. If you have questions about the PinkDenim line, please don't hesitate to contact us.
