About Me & Max Designer Jackets
Me & Max Clothing was founded by businesswoman turned clothing-designer Rebecca David. Upon reflecting on her daily multiple lifestyles, Ms. David examined her life and her wardrobe, and saw the disparity.
Ms. David’s profession was in the legal system, specifically child welfare. Often, the day would begin in the courtroom and then move to in-home meetings with service organizations and families. Style had a lot to do with how she was experienced and how she was treated. Suits were too formal and intimidating and jeans too casual, and led to not being taken seriously. Although fully aware that clothes don’t make the woman, Rebecca David knows that they can define a situation… and Rebecca began formulating her idea: Eliminate pesky ‘wardrobe confusion,’ by creating easy style options with both class and panache.
After discussions and constant encouragement from her mentor, her Aunt Maxine, Ms. David considered her options. She envisioned and designed a collection of ‘must-have’ jackets that have are eye catching conversation pieces. The jackets are known for the good cut and are easy to wear, presenting a unique personal statement. “We women want to feel at peace and comfortable in our skins… and clothes can help to create that veil of confidence. As we evolve and get to that certain wonderful point in life, I see that women embrace their power enjoying and celebrating both traditional and newer roles. It’s great when you have the freedom to just ‘get up and go’. I think that the right fashion accessory worn with confidence and no tugging or pulling is the key to looking just great.”
